Which safe suits your everyday needs?

A suitable safe starts with three questions: what do you want to store, where will it go and what evidence do you need?
Start with the contents
Write down what should go in the safe: documents, storage media, jewellery or other personal valuables. Measure particularly large items and allow some spare capacity. External dimensions alone say little about the usable internal space.
Measure the installation space
Measure more than the recess. Door opening, access routes, stairs and weight are all part of the plan. For anchoring, consider the manufacturer’s instructions, the condition of the substrate and, where necessary, the owner’s consent.
Check the evidence before buying
Security class, fire resistance and suitability for a particular purpose are separate properties. Rely on product-specific documents. Clarify insurance requirements directly with your insurer before choosing a model.
Sources and evidence
